Strontium-based marine aquarium supplement by aquaforest is a supplement containing highly concentrated strontium (Sr) and barium (Ba).

Strontium, after calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg), is one of the most important elements needed for growth of hard corals. Strontium supports hard coral skeletal and tissue genesis and significantly improves the calcium absorption.

Strontium based marine aquarium supplement also supports the growth of soft corals skeletal.

In a closed aquarium system, skimmer and filtration media (carbon or charcoal) remove strontium from the water, therefore its supplementation is necessary.

In order to ensure that the aquarium conditions are as close as possible to the natural, the preparation was enriched with the addition of barium, which is also present and significant in seawater.

The strontium level in the reef aquarium should vary between 5 ppm and 15 ppm. You can check it with a ICP OES test because It is important that each aquarium is different and the dosage depends on the coral cast and individual needs.

Dosage:

1 drop per 100 l (27 US gal) of water daily.

1 ml of Strontium (~20 drops) in 100 l (27 US gal) of water raises the strontium level by 1,09 mg/L (ppm). equal to 1 ml = 0,109 mg of Sr.
