The fertilizers are easy to use and allow you to enrich the synthetic seawater all the nutrients essential for the proper development of phytoplankton, without worrying about the wrong items, or concentrations due to inappropriate use of unsuitable products, such as fertilizers designed to terrestrial higher plants.

The fertilizers and their composition is specifically designed and differ depending on the nutritional requirements of the strain of algae that are breeding. 
The have different fertilizer formulation that allows you to simply bring up the different genres with no possibility of contamination. 
Our fertilizer for phytoplankton is used for decades by the major producers of fish for human consumption in their fry lab. 

The formula known ARD2 allows the growth of species not motile (no flagellum as Nannochloropsis), while the formula named ENW of those motile (Tetraselmis or Isochrisys). For cyanobacteria in seawater (Synechococcus), you can use J-Sky, while for Spirulina (Arthrospira) is indicated S-Zar.
The two fertilizers largely cover the production needs of all ensuring an excellent result.

If your need is to have a phytoplankton consisting of diatoms or algae, which require a source of silicon, by simply adding a few ml of a solution of sodium metasilicate (silicon - Si) can also raise the diatoms in order to offer to invertebrates and small live food new and different foods.
