Easy Reefs EasyRoti 250 ml Liquid phytoplankton

Easy Reefs Easy roti250 is composed of two different concentrated microalgae from Gen. Nannochloropsis 80% and Gen. Tetraselmis 20%.

The special characteristics of each of the two micro-algae in this formula provide an ideal nutritional profile for safely increasing marine rotifers intended for aquaria.

Dosage: dosage varies slightly depending on the biological load of the aquarium.
Generally, it is set between 8 ml/day (basic or maintenance dose) and 16 ml/day (medium to high demand) for an aquarium with a gross volume of 1,000 liters.

Instructions for use:
The dose depends on the density of rotifers you achieve. Average consumption is 4 ml/day of Easy roti250 per liter of rotifer culture, harvesting about 25 percent per day.

Materials needed:

• 3 cylindrical 2 L containers with moderala aeration through a small tube and aerator.
• Filter with mesh size less than 52 micrometers (0.052 mm).
• Initial inoculation of rotifers.

Culture cycle: in 5 days
"Seawater" i.e. water prepared with synthetic salts for marine aquarium at a density of 1019-1022 @ 20°C or 30 PSU will be used. The culture temperature will have to be maintained at about 20°C, optimum at 24°C
To filter the rotrferi, the filter with a mesh size of less than 52 micrometers (0.052 mm) should be used.

This is a parallel culture system, from which a constant aquarium food is obtained from day 6 onward. One container will be used for the ‗Coup' and a second container for the ‗Production'.
The dosages given are under optimal conditions, assuming an ideal rotifer density. If conditions are not optimal or exceed the optimum, it is possible that the amount of Easy Reefs Easy roti250 introduced will not match the rotifers' needs. Consumption of algae (water becomes clear and yellowish) indicates that the dose administered was not sufficient. If rotifers go without food for more than 4 hours, the number of eggs decreases and, consequently, so does the growth rate of the population. It is essential that rotifers always have food available.
Rotifers are very sensitive to changes in water physicochemical parameters. If water quality deteriorates rapidly, the rotifer population will be affected. If excessive dirt is observed in the tube, filter out the rotifers and inoculate with a clean tube, then add the necessary amount of algae.
With time and experience, you will be able to infer from the intensity of the green color the amount of seaweed needed, until you come up with your own protocol. There is no difference between live seaweed and Easy Reefs Easy roti250 in its use as food.
A small tube 5 mm in diameter is introduced into the culture container with which you area very slightly (5-10 bubbles per second) to make the culture mixture homogeneous. Excessive turbulence causes the rotifers to lose their eggs and prevent them from hatching.
It is recommended to divide the dose of food into two or more feedings per day, even if for reasons of time it is usual to feed only once a day.
