Protein skimmer Typ 150-F2001 by H&S marine life support system

The H&S Typ 150-F2001 protein skimmer can be adjusted by acting on both the water and air outlet.

Caution: If the water level is high, there is a danger of water overflowing from the glass!

There are two different types of foaming:

• Wet skimming: the water level is very high in the pipe. The more the outlet pipe is closed, the wetter the foam becomes.
• Dry foaming: by adjusting the water flow from the outlet pipe. The more it is opened, the drier the foam becomes.

The heart of this skimmer are the Aqua Bee pumps, modified and finished with special needle impellers. The pumps are regulated by the air intake.

When the air intake is closed, the water flowing through the skimmer increases: with less air intake, the pump treats more water. The air inlet must not be closed too much, because the tube must be filled with small bubbles; if little air passes through, large bubbles will form.

The H&S Typ 150-F2001 skimmer works best without adjusting the air intake. It is possible that there may be very fine bubbles in the water coming out of the skimmer: this - not a problem as you place the skimmer in a technical tank - can easily be avoided if the outgoing water comes into contact with a suitable filter material, such as filter balls.

The H&S Typ 150-F2001 skimmer is easy to clean, the upper part of the skimmer, the tumbler, with the foam, thanks to an easy and safe bayonet connection between skimmer and tumbler.

The tumbler of the H&S Typ 150-F2001 skimmer should be cleaned 1-2 times a week so that the foam transport is not blocked, while the cylinder and other parts should be cleaned every 3-4 months.

The suction nozzle (venturi system mounted on the pump) can be the main cause for the presence of salt in the venturi system and the silicon tube in the event of a drop in performance; both parts must be thoroughly cleaned at regular intervals.
